Coaching Centre-18 bag sub-junior, junior titles

Chandigarh: Coaching Centre, Sector18, beat St Stephen’s School, Sector 45, 6-3 to annex the sub-junior title in the UT State Hockey Championship for girls, being organised by Chandigarh Womens Hockey Association, at Sector 18 Hockey Stadium on Wednesday. Babita scored three goals while Sapna sounded the board twice and Mandeep found the net once to fashion Coaching Centre’s victory. For St Stephen’s, Hamisha scored a brace while Ameesha sounded the board once.

The junior category finals saw a repeat of the sub-junior finals in which Coaching Centre-18 walked away with the title. However, the margin was bigger this time as St Stephen’s failed to sound the board and were handed over a thumping 0-6 defeat. For the winning team, Sapna scored three goals while Mandeep and Babita scored two and one goals apiece.
