North Eastern Railway ‘stroked’ past Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) 4-3, while Sports Hostel registered a comfortable 4-1 win against Babu Society in the two matches of the district hockey league at Babu stadium.

After NER and SSB failed to break the deadlock in the regulation time, the railway team inched past the securitymen in the tie-breaker. On the other hand, Sports Hostel had the going easy after the initial setback when they conceded the lead with Babu Society’s Ajay Prabhakar scoring in the tenth minute. But after that Faheem (12th, 14th), Shobhit Pande (34th) and Deepak (35th) made it look easy for NER.
