Babu Society and Sashastra Seema Bal registered hardfought wins against their respective rivals in the district hockey league at Babu stadium. Babu Society defeated Police Radio 8-7 in ‘sudden death’, while SSB edged past Red Eagle Club 1-0.

The regulation time of the Babu Society and Police Radio ended locked 2-2 and the tie-breaker too failed to break the deadlock with both the side at par with the scores being 6-6. Then in the ‘sudden death’ Vijay Kumar and Abhimanyu scored for Babu Society, while A Kumar struck for Police Radio as T Mirza missed his attempt.

In the SSB versus Red Eagle Club match, the all-important goal was scored by Gunamani Singh in the 53rd minute of the match. SSB and NR made the super league from Group A, while Sports College and Sports Hostel moved up from Group B.
