OLYMPIC CAPTAIN DILIP TIRKEY

Indian national team captain Dilip Tirkey from Odisha is the first player in the world to play 400 matches. The star, who emerged from obscure village in the tribal belt, rose to lead India at the Athens Olympics. Later in his life, Dilip became Member of Parliament and headed Odisha Tourism Development Corporation too. The book, released in 2003, traces the star's career from early days to him being selected captain of the 2014 Olympics. Dilip then went on to play another five years before hung his boots.
The book was released by the Hon'ble Chief Minister of Odisha, Shri Naveen Patnaik in Bhubaneswar.
