The gifted forward of 1970s ruled the Indian hockey of his times like a colossus. He won bronze, silver and gold at the 1971, 1973 and 1975 World Cups, respectively. The player from Coorg, who represented Indian Airlines in the domestic circuit, led India at the 1978 Asian Games. After retirement from the active international hockey, he was part of the national federation as Selector which he continues almost 30 years by now. He lives in Chennai.
