Indian hockey is back to sqaure one as the Indian Olympic Association (IOA) has begun their search for a new coach again. The IOA said it would look for a new coach after Maharaj Krishan Kaushik decided to join the women’s national team in Bangalore.
Kaushik was appointed the men’s team coach by the IOA ad hoc committee on hockey last week but was directed by his employers, the Sports Authority of India on Monday to take charge of the women’s team.
Kaushik is likely to leave for Bangalore on Wednesday after meeting the SAI director general. While the former international hockey player said he would go by the decision of the SAI, the IOA secretary general Randhir Singh said the adhoc committee would look for a new coach.
