Varsha Soni hails from Kota in Rajasthan. She won gold at 1981 Asia Cup and 1982 Asian Games. Before that she was part of the Indian teams that played the World Cup and World Championships. She played for her employer Indian Railways in the domestic circuit. She was awarded Arjuna in 1981
