SN Vohra hockey from today

CHANDIGARH: THE 38th edition of SN Vohra’s All India Gurmeet Memorial Hockey Tournament will start from Sep tember 21 at Hockey Stadium, Sector 42.

Chander Shekar, president, Chandigarh Hockey Association said the tournament will see the participation of top teams from all over the country and the teams have been divided into four pools. Air India, Punjab Police, BSF, Jalandhar, BSF, Mohali, ONGC, Western Railways, SRC, Hyderabad, RCF, Kapurthala, Corps of Signals and EME, Indian Overseas Bank, Punjab National Bank, CISF, IAF, PSEb, Ropar Hawks, COE, Patiala, CHFA and Chandigarh XI are the teams which will vie for the top honours. The winning team will get a cash reward of Rs 70,000 while the runners-up team will get a cash prize of Rs 45,000. Besides that, cash awards will be given to four outstanding players while BL Gupta Memorial Tro phy will be awarded to the most well behaved team.
