Hat-trick by Mandanna

BANGALORE: An early blitz by Mandanna, who struck in the first, second and fourth minutes of the game powered Central Excise to an emphatic 5-0 victory over the host BEL Sports Club in the BEL Kodava Cup State-level hockey tournament at the Dr. Ambedkar Stadium (Jalahalli) on Monday.

Excise men struck again in the second half with P.A. Aiyappa (52nd minute) and Ajay Aiyappa (59th) completing the tally.

Earlier, Canara Bank with two second-half goals, prevailed over Corps of Military Police 2-0. Lakshman Rao (38th) and Kaverappa (45th) were the scorers.
