Surinder to lead India
Surinder Kaur will lead the Indian women’s hockey team for the four-nation tournament in Santiago from January 17.
The other nations competing are Chile, Italy and Argentina.
The team will then travel to Argentina for four test matches from January 25 to 28.
Indian Women’s Hockey Federation selector Harbinder Singh and government nominee Roopa Saini, who picked the team on Sunday after a two-day trial camp, also retained the juniors squad that won the Asia Cup bronze in Kuala Lumpur, except for the inclusion of Rani Devi.
Th Ranjita will captain the squad for the Australian Youth Olympic Festival in Sydney from January 14 to 18 that will also see the host nation as well as England and the United States participating.
