Without directly complaining change of schedule by the organizers, Pakistan coach Shahid Ali Khan says his team was prepared all along for the night match, but had to play under sun the first match of the Asia Cup.

Speaking to stick2hockey.com after his team managed to draw 1-1 in the opener against China, he said his team was lucky to draw and was thoroughly unprepared for the first match under sun.

Pakistan was originally scheduled to meet in the last match of the first day, but due to pull out of Sri Lanka the schedule has been changed. “It is tough to change our things so sudden, as we did all our planning keeping nite match in mind “, he said.

coming to the match, he said that China has always been good at Penalty corners. They scored at least a penalty corner goal against every team in the last Olympics.

He felt the second penalty corner for his team was near goal, but for it got deflected on the wood work.

Pakistani was luck enough to get a draw against china in the 70th minute that too by a unforced deflection from the China team player. When you play tournament, you should expect both day and night matches to be played alike. It is not preparing for the time factor, but being prepared for the match according to time is important. It looks to me that the coach prepared only for the finals of Asia cup and not for the league matches. This coach earlier was the goalkeeping coach for Malaysia, and now he has been promoted by PHF as the chief coach? which is the biggest mistake PHF has committed… Does Pakistan have any hockey pitch with flood lights facilities? I don’t think so…….
