Md. Aslam makes his predecessor Proud

Self-appointed Secretary General of the UFO Called ‘Hockey India’ has done his predecessor Jothikumaran proud.

The former Indian Hockey Federation Secretary General, in his 14-year rule, never once was accused of promoting his family or relatives, though, for instance, his one-time friend like SR Bhaskaran went with the team (Olympic Qualifier in 1996) as observer.

His successor Sardar Md. Aslam Khan has outdone him so quickly and so brazenly.

Sharad Deep exposed in the Hindustan Times today how Md. Aslam’s son, who is believed to be a joint secretary of the Uttarkhand Hockey Association, has been nominated as observer for the forthcoming India’s Europe tour.

In his defence Md. Aslam said, as per the report, that his son is going on his own expense and as such it is not a big issue.

We have seen hockey for long, and believe the corruption starts this way only – on own expense before taking its own course.

We are really surprised this gentleman started things so quickly that any new starter would have thought twice before putting someone so blood relation to a national duty.

But of course we are forgetting the point – Md. Aslam is the founder-Secretary of a new organization. His approach to the game will be so fresh and path breaking that soon we will have nothing to say!!!

Dear Sardar Md. Aslam Sahib, even as per the IHF standard, it is too much too early.

Before KPS Gill came to hockey, all the tour officials used to be ratified by the IHF Executive Commitee. Those were the orderly days.
