India U-18 hockey team accorded warm farewell
Lucknow, July 17: The India Under-18 girls hockey team’s camp for the Under-18 Asia Cup was organised at the Sports Authority of India’s Netaji Subhash Sub-centre, Lucknow from June 6 to July 16. The prestigious event will be held at Shanghai, China from July 20 to 26.
The Indian team will be reaching Delhi on July 17 and will fly for Shanghai from Delhi on July 18.
Sports Authority of India (SAI) accorded a warm farewell to the team members on Thursday evening at Lucknow.
On the occasion, Secretary Sports (UP) Rajan Shukla met the team members and encouraged them to perform well and bring laurels for the country.
A ‘special dinner’ was also in store during which the players and the guests had a healthy interaction with each other regarding hockey.
Olympian Sujit Kumar, Olympian Syed Ali, Director SAI Sub-Centre Sanjay Saraswat, coaches and many sportspersons also graced the occasion.
