The Hindu: Chennai: A brace by striker Ravi, one goal coming in each half with second one proving to be the match winner, featured the entry of Nilgiris District HA into the quarterfinals of the Finpro Sports Management hockey tournament at the Mayor Radhakrishnan Stadium on Wednesday. Nilgiris eliminated Food Corporation of India 2-1.

Seizing the intiative, Nilgiris took the lead from a penalty corner before Rajasekhar restored parity. But in the dying minutes, Ravi netted again to raise the banner of victory.

Earlier, Adam Sinclair proved why he is an Olympian with a sterling display to take Indian Overseas Bank to a worthy 7-0 victory over Friends Club. IOB led 4-0 at half-time.

Sinclair struck twice in each half while Arun Stalin, Senthil and Iyappan netted one each.

In the third match, Southern Railway scored a comfortable 4-0 victory over Income Tax RC after leading 3-0 at half-time.

Mahendra Singh, Arumugam (2), Maheswaran scored for the winner.
