Amstelveen: A brace each by Taeke Takema and Prabhjot Singh featured the first hockey Test between the Netherlands and India on Friday.
The Netherlands won the contest 5-3 after leading 5-0 at half-time.
Hoyang put the Dutch ahead and was followed by Teun di Nooijer, Taeke Takema (2) and Hofmann.
Sardar Singh scored for India to reduce the margin and then Prabhjot Singh struck twice to make it 5-3.
The second Test is scheduled for Sunday.
