NEW DELHI: Sports Minister MS Gill on Monday expressed satisfaction at the renovation work being carried out at the National Stadium, saying state-of-the-art facilities and ultra security would be in place to make it the best hockey stadium in the world.
Gill specially praised the engineers for their good job and the pace of work at the stadium, which will host the World Cup and Commonwealth Games next year.
“Last year, I had visited National Stadium, at that time the basement was done. This year plenty of renovation work is being done,” Gill said.
“I am happy with the work of the engineers and all the workers who have put in all their effort. It is definitely going to be elegant.
“I have made sure that there is ultra security in the stadium. It would become the best hockey stadium in the world,” the minister said during his 15-minute visit to the stadium.
