Wednesday, November 04, 2009: RCF split points with BEG ‘A” in the MHA Super League matches played at the MHA Mahindra Stadium today. In the Senior Division league tie played earlier Union Bank of India outplayed Rajesh Pillay Academy by a handsome margin of 5-2.

RCF-BEG encounter turned out to be exciting one, predicted to be one sided affair BEG the cellar side lingering at the bottom with one point in their kitty today they were charged up against the youthful RCF who had great run in the super league. It was BEG who started on a bright note twice in the very opening of the play time missed out chances luck eluded them. RCF yet to get into rhythm got the wake up call immediately RCF short up into lead through an extended penalty corner conversion indirectly by Laxman Rao in the 6th minutes 1-0. However BEG undeterred launched their attacks on RCf citadel every now and then in one such raids BEG got the equalizer their Abung Singh fed in a short pass to on rushing skipper Niranjan Ekka who made no mistake in hitting the ball into the wooden cage from close range ( 18th minutes ) 1-1. Five minutes later RCF once again shot in to lead from their 3rd penalty corner, Boon D’Souza brilliantly converted a penalty corner by connecting his own rebound ball 2-1. After recess time both sides trying to our smart each other by creating forays but BEG getting more attacks on RCF but their strikers fumbled at the crucial junctures on the other hand RCf hanging on the slender margin lead could not reconstruct any successful move up front. BEG’s Rohit Dung Dung amended his mistake by firing the equalizer for the 2nd time from close quarters ( 56th minutes ). RCF defender Javed Ahmed was shown a yellow card for unruly behaviour in the 57th minutes. After score being at level terms RCF launched attack for upper hand but their skipper Mahesh Bagade messed up chances up front. There after both sides failed to disturb the scorers till the final hooter.

Union Bank after initial fumble’s came up with define performance to outclass debutant Rajesh Pillay Academy by 5-2, after being up by 2-1 score during break time. The flood gates were opened in the very 5th minutes by Amarjeet M thereafter and he again scored in the 19th minutes. Pranav Pandey – 2 goals ( 40th & 55th ) and Reuben Kedare ( 56th minutes ) rounded the tally for Union Bank for losers Rajesh Pillay Academy Akash Pawar and Amar Thakur were on target.
