NEW DELHI: It’s bad news for those office-bearers of a federation who nurture hopes of contesting the elections to Hockey India. According to the sports ministry guidelines, no such office-bearer is entitled to contest in Hockey India elections which are scheduled to be held on January 29 next month.

According to the guidelines (clause 3.6) for recognition of national sports federations, “no office-bearer of a National Federation shall hold office simultaneously, in any other National Federation, except the Indian Olympic Association.”
