NEW DELHI: Government-appointed Hockey India election observer SK Mendiratta asked the interim national body to sort out its affiliation mess and make public the electoral college before its January 29 poll.
Mendiratta said he has written to HI, asking them to finalise the list of authorised representatives by January 10 and make the same public.
“This is in reaction to the media reports which has portrayed a disturbing picture about what is going on in Hockey India. Before it gets any more murkier and the hockey-loving people of the country start doubting the process of affiliation and election, it’s desirable that the entire process is completed as early as possible,” he said.
“It’s imperative that a list of authorised representatives of all the units who form the electoral college is finalised and made public,” he added.
HI finds himself under fire after Hockey Punjab president and Punjab Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal accused them of hatching conspiracy against HP after the state body was denied affiliation.
