SAIL Nehru Championship finds its final-8 teams

On the 4th day of 17TH SAIL Nehru Champion Colleges Hockey Tournament, 3 matches were played.

In the first one, Municipal College Rourkela routed LNUPE Gwalior 12-0.

Ignaius Toppo & Azam Baig scored a hat-trick, while Irshad Mirza & Ranju Minz scored a brace each. Shakir Singh & Saurabh Kumar Singh netted once each to get their team a thumping win.

Irhsad Mirza waws declared man of the match.

In the second on,e SGS College Chandiagrh beat Al Ameen College Banglore 5-2.

For Chandigarh, Rupinderpal Singh netted 4 goals while man of the match Preetinder Singh scored one. For Banglore, Poonacha and Deepak scored a piece each.

In the last encounter, JLN PG College Bhopal beat Annamalai University 3-1.

Surinder scored 2 goals while Upendra Pillai scored once for the winner team. Laxman Karan was the only one to score for Annamalai. Kamlesh Rai of Bhopal was declared man of the match.

Tommorow, 2 quarter-finals will be played.

In the first one, JLN PG College, Bhopal will take on DAV College Jalandhar.

In the second one, SGGS College, Chandigarh will lock horns with Municipal College, Rourkela.
