India suffer 2nd straight loss to China
April 1: The Indian women’s hockey team suffered their second successive defeat at the hands of Asian giants China, who blanked them 4-0 to take an unassailable lead in the three-match series in Shanghai on Thursday, according to information received here.
China had earlier won 6-4 in the first test on Tuesday.
For China, Wang Men Gyu (13th and 53rd minutes) sounded the boards twice while Tu Bao Rong Fu (33rd) and Zhao Yu Diao (62nd) chipped in with a goal apiece.
India earned five penalty corners but were unable to convert any. In comparison, the hosts got nine penalty corners.
