Former hockey international Nimal passes away
Mumbai, Jun 15 (PTI) Former hockey international Hiranna M Nimal died here yesterday. He was 74.
The funeral was held in Pune today, said Olympian and former western railway teammate Gurbaksh Singh. Nimal, who played as a left-half, represented the country in Jakarta Asian Games in 1962.
He was also member of the Indian team that toured East Africa in 1959. “He was a very good half.
“One of the finest left-halfs I have seen. He had very good anticipation,” said Gurbaksh Singh, who is also the secretary of Mumbai Hockey Association.
