IHF’s Senior National Hockey from Sunday
NEW DELHI: A total of 30 teams from across the country would vie for the top honour during 63rd Senior National Hockey Championship, organised by the Indian Hockey Federation and commencing in Bhopal from Sunday.
Delhi, Punjab, Orissa and Tamil Nadu are among the teams who have confirmed their participation in the 14-day event.
The teams have been divided into eight pools and one team from each pool will qualify for the quarterfinals. The top eight teams of the tournament will also qualify for Federation Cup to be held later, an IHF release said today.
The release also stated that the Junior National (U-20) Championship for both men and women would be held at a common venue in Haryana simultaneously in August under the auspices of IHF.
Besides, Youth (U-17) Championship will be held in Hyderabad in September, while the Sub-junior (U-14) National Championship to be hosted by Jaipur in November, the release said.
