FIH Receives two bids for 2014 World Cups

Following the passing of the submissions deadline on Friday 15th October 2010, the International Hockey Federation (FIH) can announce that it has received two bids for the Men’s and Women’s World Cup tournaments, which will take place in 2014.

Both submissions have come from European countries, with England and The Netherlands giving a clear commitment to host these show-piece events.

The bids, submitted by England Hockey and the Koninklijke Nederlandse Hockey Bond (KNHB) respectively, will be evaluated by the FIH over the coming weeks.

An official announcement regarding the awarding of the Men’s and Women’s World Cup events will be released during the forthcoming FIH Congress, which takes place between 6th and 14th of November 2010 in Montreux, Switzerland.
