Haryana and the hosts Jharkhand will fight for the top honours in the National Games in Ranchi, as they defeat their rivals with identical 3-1 scoreline.
This year National Championship runners up Haryana defeated Orissa in the first semis; later, playing against full crowd of about 15,000, Jharkhand, despite struggling though, overcame Madhya Pradesh to move closer to the title.
Hardworking winger Saba Anjum scored the first goal for the hosts, and enlarged midway through second half by Minz. Vandana Kataria of MP reduced the margin to 1-2 with an immaculate reverse hand shot. However, scoring in the next half, Jharkhand which had in its rank such stalwarts as Asunta Lakra and Subhadra Pradham made it to the next grade.
The highlight of the match today is the crowd, jam-packed stands.
