Indian hockey team likely to tour Pak at 2011 end: Report
The Indian hockey team is likely to tour Pakistan at the end of 2011, Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) Secretary Asif Bajwa has said.
Indian Hockey Federation Secretary Narinder Batra contacted his Pakistani counterpart Bajwa to discuss the prospects of an Indo-Pak hockey series, Dunya News reported.
Bajwa said in an exclusive interview with the channel that the Indian hockey team would tour Pakistan at the end of this year just before the Men’s Hockey Champions Trophy.
He said that the Indian hockey tour to Pakistan was being delayed due to political tensions between both nations, but after the ICC Cricket World Cup semi-final on March 30, the relations between the two countries were improving.
Pakistan Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani had visited India to watch the much-awaited Indo-Pak semi-final World Cup clash in Mohali on the invitation of his Indian counterpart Dr Manmohan Singh.
