India to face Pakistan in Asian Champions Trophy hockey
NEW DELHI: India and arch-rival Pakistan will face-off September 9 in the first edition of the men’s hockey Asian Champions Trophy to be held in Ordos, China, September 3-14. The second edition of the women’s event will also be held simultaneously.
The top six teams from the Asian Games in Guangzhou, China, get to play in the men’s event while the top-four Asian teams China, South Korea, Japan and India play the women’s event.
The Indian men’s team will start their campaign against China, September 3, while the women’s team play their first match next day against South Korea.
The first edition of the women’s tournament was held in Busan, South Korea, where India won the bronze.
