WSH likely to have innovative format
The World Series Hockey (WSH), the franchise-based league scheduled to start on December 22 this year, is likely to introduce some innovations in formatting, like dividing the 70-minute match into three or four quarters.
The matches would be mostly played over the weekends in eight cities on home and away basis. “Whether each match will be divided into two halfs or three or four quarters is yet to be decided. But we will be looking at some innovations regarding rules. This is a format that is suited for television audience,” Dennis Meredith, the newly-appointed technical director of WSH, told HT.
