Aslam Sher Khan to head Olympians body

Former India hockey star Aslam Sher Khan was unanimously elected president of the Olympian Association of India at a meeting here on Monday.
Tokyo Olympics finalist in the 110m hurdles, Gurbachan Singh Randhawa, was elected senior vice-president, while International Olympic Committee (IOC) member Randhir Singh was chosen chief patron and triple hockey Olympian Balbir Singh (Sr) and ‘Flying Sikh’ Milkha Singh patrons of the newly-formed association.
Other office-bearers: Vice-Presidents: Harbinder Singh and Col. Balbir Singh (hockey) and Gurbir Singh Sandhu (shooting); Secretary: Ajit Pal Singh (hockey); Joint secretary: Sanjeeva Kumar Singh (archery).
Members: Rupa Saini and Jagbir Singh (hockey); Manjit Dua (table tennis); Karnam Malleswari and Kunjarani Devi (weightlifting); Leander Paes (tennis); Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore, Abhinav Bindra and Anwar Sultan (shooting); Sushil Kumar and Subhash Verma (wrestling); Vijender Singh (boxing); Sriram Singh, Ashwini Nachappa, Charles Borromeo and Srichand Ram (athletics); Shiva Keshvan (luge – Winter Games); Sumangala (archery) and S.S.
