One of the main agendas of the ‘illegal’ AGM of the IOA dissolved IHF is ratification of accounts of the last three years.
The papers circulated to the members include accounts of last three years as well.
Rather interestingly, the man who prepared the accounts and by all means is expected to clarify members on this specific accounts issue — the Treasurer of the dissolved IHF, JN Tyagi — was conspicuous for his absence.
JN Tyagi, a lecturer in the Meerut based college, did not attend the so called AGM.
With this the Sahara Group’s leverage in the election increased to 32 in the electoral college of 41.
If this was the win for the Sahara Group Managers, there is also a set back.
Punjab and Jharkhand, who were supposed to be in their lobby, seemed to have a second thought. They were represented today in the Delhi mela as well. May be that they form the ever-increasing fence sitters group.
If the Punjab lobby’s sudden change of heart was understood, it proved an embarrassment for Gill and Co also. Because, it is heard, they took strong exception to the presence of ‘sting tainted’ Jothi Kumaran in the house – and the words flew thick and past.
It is a known fact that it is for the first time Gill is calling his Executive or AGM in Delhi in his 14 years (mis)rule that thankfully ended six moths ago.
He perhaps chose Delhi because of his strong belief in the huge media presence in the capital, which can blow up things any given date.
Those in the know of the things would know four third majority is with the other group which seek to provide at least a whiff of fresh air.
So what if numbers are not with me? I will at least carve a space for me in the next day’s newspapers.
It seems to be the agenda of the man who is not at all in the race – KPS Gill.
Well If Punjab, Orrisa, Tamilnadu, AP are with Gill than How Ad-Hoc committe will get grounds to organize Hockey events as, all grounds with astro turf facility are in those states?! And Mr Gill is planning Junior compitation in Chandigarh than That modern ground is also went in Gill’s Team.
Hope to hear from you on this.
Ankit
Dear visitor, the grounds in these states belong to respective state governments, anyone can approach, pay the prescribed rent and organize tournaments. So also the ad-hoc committee. Except, Mumbai Hockey Association all other state association do not have their ground of own.
