BANGALORE :Bishop Cotton Girls’ School ‘A’ scored a 4-2 win over St Philomena’s School (Bellary) to clinch the inter-school girls’ hockey tournament for the BTC Cup at the Karnataka State Hockey Association stadium here on Wednesday.
Anusha Patil gave Philomena’s the initial lead with a strike in the third minute. Bishop Cotton’s S Disha scored three minutes later to restore parity. In the 12th minute, Tenzin Butto scored the second goal for Bishop Cotton to give her team the 2-1 lead.
Vaishnavi and Mahira converted one penalty corner each in the 45th and 48thminute to ensure a comfortable lead for Cottons.
Vijayalakshmi Pawar scored for Philomena’s in the 56th minute but the effortwas not enough to stop Cottons from winning the title.
In the third place play-off match, Sports School (Kudige) blanked Bishop Cotton Girls’School ‘B’6-0.
The goal scorers were Komala (9th, 28th), Bhavya (12th),Vidya (24th),Sandhya (27th) and Bhavani (39th).
