Easy win for Fortis

Bangalore: Drag-flicker Diwakar Ram continued his good run to help Fortis register an emphatic 4-1 victory over Canara Bank in the KSHA Super Division hockey league (second phase) here on Saturday.

Canara took an early lead for the second consecutive match when Laxman Rao opened the account in the 19th minute. Fortis struck back soon as Ram’s found the target with a penalty corner five minutes later. Forward Sandeep Michael then enhanced Fortis’ tally with a brace spread over two sessions.(26th & 43rd). Ram netted another penalty corner (54th) to put his team in command.

In another match, Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) outclassed Army Service Corps (ASC) 4-0.

International VR Raghunath opened IOCL tally with a penalty corner goal in the 10th minute while Bharat Chhikara added to their rival’s woes with another setpiece conversion. Prabhjot Singh made it 3-0 in the 44th minute and Roshan Minz rounded off the tally for IOCL in the dying minutes.
