His hockey passionate father named his on his country’s name, and there he is in the Indian World Cup team.
Bharat Chikara, the lad from Kanondha, a village in Delhi’s adjoining Jhajjar District, is a man for all seasons. He started his career as a forward, and as now to meet the team’s demand, will be the midfielder.

Bharat is a product of famous CRZ school which produced 1998 World Cup layer Rajesh Chouhan. From this school he played the Asian Schools Championship in 2001.
He joined the SAI – Air India academy next year. AK Bansal was the coach there. Later he joined Indian Oil Corporation and from there he got the eyes of Joaquim Carvalho who drafted him into the national side.
Hockey year book that year named him as the Promising Player of the Year, after watching him excel in both Hyderabad and Jalandhar national championship.
He was part of the Sultan Azlan Cup in 2008.
