Champions Colleges Quarterfinals tomorrow at Gwalior
The eight teams who have made it to the quarterfinals will vie for the semifinal slot tomorrow at Gwalior Railway Stadium in the Nehru-SAIl Colleges Champions Cup.
The Silver Jubilee edition of the only of its kind tournament – for the Zonal winners of Inter-University teams – is currently underway at Gwalior starting from 7th of this month.
Normally, the tournament used to be held in Delhi, it has to be moved to another city as both the stadiums in Delhi are under renovation.
After five days, a team from each pool has been relegated, after each team in the 3-team pool played each other. Thus, 8 teams have made it to the quarterfinal. The quarters will be played tomorrow (Thursday). The Quarterfinal line up is as follows:
DAV college Jalnadhar will take on local outfit LNUPE, Gwalior in the morning, followed by the match between Lyallpur Khalsa College and Faculty of Arts and Education, Annamalai University. In the post lunch session, Jawaharlal Nehru PG College Bhopal will engage Gurukul Kangri University, Haridwar, while the last engagement of the hectic day will feature Municipal College Rourkela and MG Kashi Vidhyapit Varanasi.
“The Madhya Pradesh State Women’s Hockey Academy has been extending full co-operation in organizing the event” said Kukoo Walia, the Organizing Secretary of the Champions Colleges Hockey Cup.
