GIPS, Shivalik win titles

Ganga International Public School (GIPS), Delhi, won the U-19 title in the CBSE North Zone-1 Hockey Tournament after they remained unbeaten in their four-team roundrobin super league at Shivalik Public School, Sector 41, on Sunday. DAV Senior Secondary School, Sector 8, and the hosts SPS finished second and third, respectively. The hosts cornered glory in the U-14 category. In the final four-team super league contest, SPS emerged champions after defeating Netaji Model School, Ropar, 2-0. Gagan opened the account for Shivalik in the 20th minute and Haraj scored the second five minutes later. SPS finished with an all-win record. Netaji Model School with one win and two defeats finished third while Akal Academy of Baru Sahib (Himachal) finished runners-up with two wins and one defeat. TNN
