Chandigarh: Shivalik Public School, Sector 41, will take on Government Senior Secondary School, Sector 43, in the opening match of the Chandigarh State U-14 Hockey Championship, being organized by Chandigarh Hockey Association, at Sector 18 Hockey Stadium on Thursday.

CHA secretary YP Vohra said nine teams would be taking part in the tournament. The second match on the opening day will be played between St Stephen’s School, Sector 45, and Government Model Senior Secondary School, Sector 35.

Government High School, Sector 44, will lock horns with DAV Senior Secondary School, Sector 8, in the third match of the day. The final will be played on August 10. Players born on or after January 1, 1994 are eligible to take part in the championship.
