Delhi High Court Dismisses Gill’s Plea

Share

Former IHF president KPS Gill’s pipe dream of staying in the chair through the legal manipulation did not work.

Delhi High Court has dismissed his petition seeking an order from the courts to declare dissolution of Indian Hockey Federation by the Indian Olympic Association null void.

It is reliably learnt that after the Delhi Court shut the door a couple of days ago, persistent Gill has filed a similar case in the Chandigarh High Court. The hearing in the Chandigarh court took place today (Friday, the 13th June) and the next hearing was fixed for the first week of September.

It is earlier reported in the popular media that the IOA and Union Sports Minsitery have been given July 9 as the last date for filing their reply to disgraced Gill’s petition. However, things went on quicker than reported.

Those in the know of the things say that once the High Court of one State has quashed a petition, the other State’s High Court would not deliberate much on the matter and it is therefore only a matter of time before the Chandigarh Court too court to the time-tested procedure.

Only God knows why KPS Gill wants to sit on the chair despite every quarter that counts loves to hate him. He does not seem to understand the national anger against him and his coterie.
