Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports has invited Dilip Tirkey and Harbinder Singh to be the new observers of hockey.

They will replace long standing Ajit Pal Singh and Zafar Iqbal

Its a strange combination of 60s star Harbinder Singh and present day legend Dilip Tirkey.

The important input these two new observers will be expected to provide to the ministry will be making a roadmap for our hockey’s Olympic qualification.

It is a coincidence now three stars –Dilip Tirkey, Pargat Singh and Dhanraj Pillay — who played for considerable time in the 90s are back in the limelight. Pargat will be the Hockey India face on technical matters, while Dilip Tirkey will be the same on behal of Government of Indi whereas Dhanraj Pillay is pitching in for the coaching!
