Dear s2h visitors

For long, we have been forced to focus more on politics and personalities who rivetted themselves to it. We have thus lost lot of energy on criticism, however genuine and unavoidable they have been.

But in our heart of hearts we all know this is not the situation that endears us. We are all hockey sport lovers, with enormous sporting spirit.

Hockey is such a vast domain it needs elaborate effort to uncover and bring out perspective news to the old and young alike.

Now that without the previous regime in command, with a new set of former players coming in the limelight, we can allot secondary position to the administrative part of the game. It effectively means the real game will be our primary focus area.

So, we have decided to bracket all the articles dealing with the IHF to a specific area named ‘IHFWatch’ on the left panel. Now in the ‘Latest News’, the prime area in the site, real hockey will dominate.

S2h hereinafter will focus on players, history, profiles, statistics, images, tournaments, and wallpapers.

In my recent sojourn at Kazan, i had an opportunity to mingle with a lot of aspiring Indian students who made the stands colourful. Their interaction gave me an insight into the young and uninitiated minds’ needs in hockey.

That easily goes to players. They were never tired of asking trivia: What is her age, how much she gets for playing India, which state she belongs to, she looks so small will you tell me since when she is playing, or just it is her first trip and alike.

This is a proof that we in the media need to do more and more. We have to bring the game and its makers — the players — to the forefront. We were so far pushing a handful of administrators to the the spotlight.

Now the time has come to bring the game, players, competition to the glamour area. s2h will henceforth do exactly the same.

You will get to read and see more on players during the Azlan Shah Cup next week. That is for sure

I am really sorry I have been using harsh language so far availing the freedom of owning a website. I have to mellow now, and am aware of it.
