Day 2: Parvinder’s last minute goal helps India come back to beat Dinamo Storitel 3-2 in EurAsia Cup

Yekatarinburg, Russia, 10July 2016: India’s junior team came back strongly in their second game against Dinamo Storitel in the EurAsia Cup to record a 3-2 victory in an entertaining game today.
In a surprisingly slow paced first half, India dominated the possession but didn’t manage to convert the possession into goals till late in the game. Dinamo, despite being under pressure, managed to win two consecutive PCs but India’s defense into a brilliant save off to keep the scores level. Soon after, with minutes to half time, Gurjant scored the opener for India to take them into half time with a 1-0 lead.
Dinamo hit back soon after the restart, via a PC in the 45th minute and then took a shock lead with a second goal in the 46th minute via L Mikhail. India though kept their heads and continued playing their possession based style, and soon enough had the equaliser, Varun scoring in the 53rd minute via a PC. With a minute of the game left to play, Parvinder scored to give India the lead and a second win on the trot in the EurAsia Cup.
Day 1: Indian open with 3-1 victory against Dinamo Stroitel in EurAsia Cup

Yekatarinburg, Russia, 9 July 2016: India’s Junior Men’s team started their EurAsia Cup campaign with an emphatic 3-1 victory against Dinamo Stroitel.
Despite a quick start to the encounter, neither team looked like breaking the deadlock. India though came closest, with a flurry of penalty corners in the first 15 minutes. Dinamo’s goalkeeper Dryanitsyn Artem kept the effort of the Indian team out of the goals. Dinamo had their own PC a few minutes later but failed to score from it. The two teams went into half time goalless.
The match was attended by the Governor of Yekaterinburg and Indian High Commissioner Mr. Pankaj Saran.
India came out stronger in the second half and soon enough started exerting their influence on the game. They scored the opener, after a technical foul in the circle led to them being awarded a stroke in the 44th minute. Varun Kumar made no mistake from the spot to give his team the lead. Simranjeet Singh doubled the lead in the 45th minute, before Vikramjit added a third eight minutes later.
As the game started running away from the host team, they scored a consolation field goal from L Alexander in the 59th minute to reduce the lead to two as India held on strongly to end up 3-1 winners.
