Indian women hockey team for the forthcoming Europe tour announced. After two days trails in Lucknow, the IWHF has announced a mixed 18-member team to be led by Surinder Kaur – first time she will be in the leadership ladder.
Consequent upon the open trials conducted a month ago, a lot of new faces have been inducted as the tour is mainly an exposure one.

During the tour the team will play in two 4-Nation Cup competitions. The first will be at Rotterdam from June 23-27 and the second one will be at Bremen in Germany between July 3-7
Though national coach MK Kaushik has been been with the team due to him not relieved from his duties, he is expected to be with the team on time before the departure. It is lapse on the part of IWHF that it could not get leave for its own chief coach and the issue is hangering on last four months, leading to unnecessary negative publicity in the media
