The scorecard remained still until the last 15 minutes of the game when it rained goals for both the teams. Germany’s Linnekogel scored a field goal in the 55th minute while Australia’s Wotherspoon equalized the score in 57th minute.
A minute later, Germany again took lead when Niklas Wellen scored for them. Again in the 65th minute, Germany scored another field goal. Australia could only manage to lower the score by one goal in the 69th minute.
Talking to the media after the match coach Andre Henning of Argentina said,” For a young team, the boys have played well. We had a good build-up and strategy for the match.”
On facing tough Australian side in the quarter-final itself, he said,” It is important to play such matches. It wouldn’t be fair to say that others teams had easy matches. In the earlier match, France defeated Belgium and even Netherlands faced tough resistance from the New Zealand team.”
Germany will be playing Netherlands tomorrow.
