Chandigarh: Olympic champions Germany, Euro winners the Netherlands and Pakistan will take part in the four-nation Punjab Gold Cup men’s invitational tournament slated for Feb 5-14 next year.
The tournament, which is being hosted by Punjab Sports Department, has been sanctioned by the International Hockey Federation (FIH) and will be held at Sector 42 Hockey Stadium here. The final will be held at the Olympian Surjit Hockey Stadium in Jalandhar.
Punjab Sports Director and former hockey Olympian Pargat Singh said Saturday that the FIH general manager, Christophe Troendle, conveyed the sanction to the ad hoc committee of the Indian Olympic Association (IOA), which is currently running the sport in the country. IANS
