HHIL 2014: Midway through, HIL meanders towards mediocrity

HHIL 2014: Midway through, HIL meanders towards mediocrity

Fifteen matches have been held, almost one or two matches in each host city, all matches telecast Live, quality of which has shown a leap, matches have been won and lost, but the impression one gets right now is not all rosy.

If quality of contest is what it means, what it counts, its on wane, from spectacle point of view, statistical discourse and by all means.

The HHIL this year started with a great match between Delhi Waveriders and Punjab Warriors at the picturesque Mohali stadium, with an eye-catching opening ceremony and what followed was a good contest, where a twin strike of Jason Wilson gave the visitors a great start.

But if you look at the last five matches, three were drawn, other two produced just 4,5 goals in all.

To be concluded
