Indian captain Manpreet Singh faces first task this week of qualifying for the 2020 Olympics when FIH Series Final unfolds in Bhubneswar.

Tough and aggressive, the Mithapur lad sets up goals, propels attack, plays active role in PCs...truly an inspiration for the whole team.

Manpreet Singh led India in the Jr World-Cup, Delhi. With 85 Sr. caps, the then 20-year old was one of the most experienced players in the team.

Olympian Manpreet Singh also led India at the Johor Cup. A product of Surjit Hockey Academy in Jalandhar, Manpreet made his Jr. debut under coach AK Bansal for the Myanmar Junior Asia.

Manpreet Singh, who made his Sr. debut at the Asian Champions Trophy in Ordos, which India won last year, was first employed with Indian Overseas Bank, Chennai before moving to adorn DSP in Punjab Police.

Besides London and Rio Olympics, Manpreet has figured in leading Sr. competitions including Azlan Shah Cup 2012, Pre-Olympic Hockey Series 2012, Olympic Qualifier, South Africa Test Series etc. In 2011, he played in the the Asian Champions Trophy, Champions Challenge 1 in South Africa and Test Series in Australia and Lanco Super Series Hockey 9s.
