Born on 1st June 1964 in Saharanpur in Uttar Pradesh, Mohinder Lal represented Agra University in the Inter-University competitions and joined Railways as necessity for job arose. He made his first tour in 155 (South Africa) and participated in the Munich Festival. Was part of 1960 and 1964 Olympics. He struck the only goal of the 1964 Olympic final against Pakistan. He also coached Spain national team, where he later settled. He was awarded Arjuna in 1967 along with Jagjit Singh
