Gifted right winger MP Ganesh is the first player from now popular Coorg region to represent India. He joined Indian Army and represented Services at the Senior National Championships. He led India to Silver at the Amsterdam World Cup, after winning bronze at the Barcelona World Cup two years ago. He won bronze at the Olympics (1972). After playing career, he took interest in coaching. He joined Sports Deptt of Karnataka from where he migrated to Sports Authority of India. He attained loft heights in the organization that he was invited to put together a National Hockey Academy after retirement. He also served as Administrator of Karnataka Cricket Association.
