The best player of both 2003 and 2005 Bombay Gold Cup, was in the training camp for the 2003 Jr. Challenge Cup, Poznan, Poland, but was not selected.
He had to wait for his day and it happened in Chandigarh in one bright, sunshine day. An extraordinary show of talent that day in the second Premier Hockey League, where he was among the scorers for Maratha Warriors, forced his national selection.
Thus, made his senior colours in 2006 in the Pakistan series that followed the PHL. The scoring prowess of this late-comer to Indian side at the 2006 Sultan Azlan Cup came in for praise by all.
