Hockey Rally today in Amritsar and Mysore.

Mysore and Amristar might be miles apart, but hockey unites them today, courtesy Hockey.

Hundreds of school children and hockey lovers will take out a rally today in Amritsar city to popularize World Cup commencing in New Delhi this week end.

The rally will start from hall gate around 13.30 hours today (Tuesday)

“Our aim is to develop feelings of affection and pride for Indian hockey and its players on the eve of great tournament coming on Indian soils”, said Prof. PS Randhawa, manager of DAV College Hockey Team, and the President of Sarhad-e-Punjab sports Club, Gurinder Singh Mattu, the main organizers behind the novel move.

The rallists will display posters which will have images of our hockey team members, hold slogans and placards, they will also hold national flag on the other hand.

“The city of historical importance will be filled with energy and positive notes for hockey today” the duo said.

MYSORE: Mysore Sports Journalists will organize a rally on Tuesday to create awareness on the forthcoming Hockey World Cup in Delhi.

Senior hockey coach and assistant director, department of physical education, University of Mysore Pulikeshi Y Shettappanavar said hockey, the national game, is losing its sheen.

So to create awareness and wish the Indian team, a rally will be held from Kote Anjaneya Swamy Temple (Palace premises) to University of Mysore athletic ground on Tuesday at 3.30 pm.

The rally will pass through KR Circle and Devaraj Urs Road before culminating at the University of Mysore athletic ground.

Former Indian hockey team captain Hemalatha and former Indian hockey player Boppanna will flag off the rally. Over 300 sports enthusiasts will take part.
