In tune with modern trend, the opener of the Humburg Masters witnessed not only rush of goals, but also equal number of scorers.
As India went down 3-6 to Netherlands in the opener, what impresses one is the scorers, there were nine of them, each having a goal apiece against them.
In a high scoring match, India trailed 1-4 in the half time before caving to put out one another pathetic display against Holland.
Mahadik scored a goal from a penalty corner to bring the score 2-1, and the Sandeep Singh converted India’s penalty corner in the second half to give India some fight, and then Ravi Pal Singh also scored a goal, but these goals came too late in the day.

Brasa has been charge for over a year and I see zero improvement in our defensive play. We always concede the most goals of any team in a tournament. To put this rubbish display in perspective, the Dutch are playing an inexperienced team here. They have selected several players from their last U21 WC team. We have also got some youngsters but when we play Holland at U21 level we are reasonably competitive, but when the same players progress up to senior level, something happens to our players and they suddenly become totally outclassed. Why?
